Thursday, April 14, 2011 from 4:30 PM to 6:00 PM (MST)
The John P. Morris Memorial Lecture will be held on Thursday, April 14th at 4:30 p.m. at the Sandra Day O'Connor College of Law Great Hall. This year's Morris Lecture will be delivered by Julian Bond, a truly legendary figure in America's civil rights movement, former member of the Georgia legislature, and Professor of History at the University of Georgia.
The title will be "Under Color of Law" which recounts both personal experiences with the law and more broadly, the law's role, for better and for worse, in the struggle for racial equality.
The John P. Morris Memorial Lecture honors John Peyton Morris, a faculty member at the College of Law from 1968 to 1993. Morris was committed to the principles of justice and equal opportunity and worked tirelessly throughout his life to foster diversity. The lecture is sponsored by the John P. Morris Black Law Student Association at the College of Law.
The lecture is free and open to the public, but tickets are suggested.
Visitor Parking is available at the pay lot at the southwest corner of Rural & Terrace (enter on the Terrace side). PLEASE NOTE: THEY ACCEPT CASH ONLY!!
